My Lenovo 2-in-1 laptop's touch screen is no longer working with the latest batch of Windows 10 updates including update. I know this because the touch screen was working fine right up until I installed these updates in early July. Now, because it's been more than 10 days, some of these updates can't be rolled back. One of the biggest reasons why I purchased this laptop was for it's high-sensitivity touch screen display. The laptop's "About" system settings doesn't even recognize that the display is touch screen, saying:.

This is a relatively new laptop, and Google shows similar issues across different vendors all associated with Windows Updates Do you not already have reports of this or other similar touch-screen issues that have been resolved? I especially believe this is a Windows 10 update-specific bug because a quick Google search reveals many similar issues with a missing "HID-compliant touch screen" driver. Even now when I check my PC's "About" info it says:. Tried this, and it did not work.
The specific "HID-compliant touch screen" driver is still not in the list. Furthermore, my error is showing Code 10 " This device cannot start. Code 10 A request for the HID descriptor failed. Is it possible that the last Windows update removed the necessary driver?

To perform system restore please follow the steps below: 1. Once system restore windows open, normally it will suggest a restore point sometimes it doesn't if it does, select the 2nd option and hit next 3.
Select your desired restore point date and time and hit next and finish. Windows will going to restart your computer to initiate system restore. System restore might take several minutes to complete depending on the current speed of your computer and the changes it will made.
Applications and updates that was installed on the computer prior to the date selected will be removed. It is important that when system restore starts, process must not be interrupted.

None of this helps. I've repeatedly run all of the troubleshooters, and none of them reported any issues. The only restore I have is from this morning, which is way after the update event. Have attached screenshots of the most recent errors. Greetings, I appreciate your swift response, have you tried to disable and enable the driver in the device manager? If not please do so. You can also go to device manager and uninstall the faulty driver , after restart it will automatically install the driver.
If issue persist , go to manufacturers website and download the touchscreen driver. I'll look forward for your response.
